For contacting on Facebook with my mobile should i be using 2g or 3g or 2g and 3g pdp support?

My mates and i send poke messages to each other every second but now my mobile isn't telling me when there sending pokes as often so i looked at my settings an pdp was turned off so i turned it on an now i'm not sure which setting is best.
