What type of mics, and what equipment will I need for a drum set?

I'm getting a new 7 piece drum kit and me and a couple buddies often jam in my garage. We started taking it real serious and made a few songs. We tried recording them but the drums are either not loud enough or drowned out my the guitars. I have real high class cymbals, A's and A customs and my new set is a PDP X7 so it's not cheap quality. I want to add microphones them to improve the sound and make it sound cleaner. Recommend some microphones and what will I use to hook them up to? Do I need an amp or how will I go about doing that? Last, how can we get it to a computer?
