Which Colleges/Universities have a good writing program?

I am going to have to start making decisions on where I want to go to college soon but don't know where to start looking. All I know now is that I love writing and reading. I want to go to a co-ed school that is near a well populated city or town and is well known by most people. I am not sure yet if I want to be a journalist, publisher, author, and etc. It would be great if you list choices in the US or the UK. Also, I love actually interacting with other people so it would be great if the college you put has sororities, good housing plans, fun outside life. Any other advice would be great too.Thanks for answering my questions :-)
